Oktoberfest?

We attended a fake Oktoberfest this weekend and left a bit disappointed. Not quite the same thing at all, but at least they had German beer! We did get to check out the National Harbor, and that was worth it. My camera battery died before I got pics of the harbor though. Maybe next time.

Khaki Ball

Chris and I finally left the little tyke at home for a grown-up's night out. Grandpa Wayne came to our rescue for the night. To top that off, somehow we scored an awesome hotel room in Crystal City with Chris's frequent traveler points. We had a blast, and a much overdue night out alone! The cool thing about this whole process is how close this brotherhood is, something I highly underestimated. Chris has made some friends for life, and I even made a few myself. Some really great folks! Here are some pics from the night.

What a really great day we had yesterday. Thanks to those who came out to help celebrate. I think we're still coming down off the high! A few pics of my strapping "Deckplate Leader" LOL. How handsome is he in this uniform? ;-)

He was passed out just a few minutes after we hit the road.....A nice ending to a loooong six weeks...

Ahhh, da beach... Warning, picture overload!

A few pics from the family vacation at the beach... I would love to post a ton more, but I think I'd clog up the site!! At one point in the week we had 22+ people at the house, but most of the week was 14. Chris was able to be there with us for a couple days which was a nice surprise. Not nearly as relaxing as last year since we now have a 15 month old, but still a blast!!!
