Well here's the first paparazzi pics of the young tadpole. 8 weeks, 2 days. Looks like our original guess on the due date is still accurate - 8 April - based on measurements of the tadpole (19.3mm). We had our first OB appointment today with Dr. Voss. It went much better than I had imagined. I had worries about the language barrier, the german culture, and just overall worries about the health of the tadpole. The Dr. was easy to understand, asked a few times if we had questions (and we did), and was very informative & helpful. I felt comfortable with her. Chris felt comfortable with her too. She was a lot more friendly and informative than I thought she'd be. Germans are not known for their "friendliness", but she was nice. Not as "rough" as I had imagined either. The office was nice and had clean, new equipment, which also eased my mind. I've been told by a few people that I should receive better care here than in the states, so I've been relieved to hear that. The lab tech's tried to draw blood but had a hard time with my veins for some reason. Dr. Voss came in and found one right away and drew a few gallons of blood (ok, not quite that much). We'll get results next time we go in on 26 September. It seems that everything looked normal & healthy so far. I am extremely relieved. I know it is still early, but I definitely needed to know that I'm doing everything right so far. Phew!
