This past weekend we ventured down to my favorite Stuttgart Winefest with our friends Mark & Marena. Unfortunately this year, I would be missing out on the wine. My main mission was to eat good food, the others would pursue the wine :-) We succeeded in both.

For those reading this who have been to Stuttgart, it was in the downtown area by the Stuttgart Church and Schlossplatz. Tents and dining areas are set up on the city streets. Low lighting and festive decorations give it that fall feeling. The past two years Chris has been on travel so this was his first year. He and Mark celebrated with a cigar. (The tadpole and I stayed away from the smoke of course)

Although German wine is pretty good, this fest is primarily the drier and less sweet wines. Usually resulting in a rough hangover. We randomly parked ourselves at a picnic table under a tent and ordered some food. Turned out to be some REALLY good food. Some roast pork, sauer kraut, potato salad, spatzle (german noodles) and maltaschen (german ravioli)... all were delicious. A lovely night was had by all :-)
ps- I'm hoping the tad is going to grow fond of german sauer kraut.
