Well my 2nd appointment was orginally supposed to be last week, but Chris had to go on travel so I postponed it until this week so that he could go with me. I don't think I will postpone another appointment!! This waiting is like torture. Five weeks is too long. I'm really anxious to see my Dr. and to make sure everything is going ok. You start to worry about every little thing and even wonder if you're still pregnant. It is terrifying. It's not like I've been through this before! There's nothing like a terrible mix of fear & hormones to keep you up at night!! Not sleeping well and not able to think about much other than tadpole. I've even considered renting a Fetal Doppler so that I can listen to the heart beat whenever I want in the privacy of my own home. (Surprisingly only $100 for 6 months!) Might give me a little peace of mind? Trying not to fall into paranoia, but it ain't easy :-) I will be running to that appointment on Friday (Oct 6, 9:30am)!! Wish me luck and good health!!
From my new favorite site, BabyCenter.com:
13 Weeks:
At three months of pregnancy, your baby is about 2 inches long. His fingers and toes have separated and he has begun swallowing and kicking. The basic structures of all his organs are in place and beginning to function.
How your life's changing:
Time to celebrate! This is the last week of your first trimester. Next week you'll be in your second trimester. That's great news for two reasons: One, your risk of miscarriage drops dramatically, and two, many women see early pregnancy symptoms, such as morning sickness, subside. (In some cases, though, heartburn replaces the nausea.)
