Happy to say that baby is still healthy. Doc measured baby's head, belly, legs and all are normal and growing as they should be. Got to see the heart beating, stomach and full bladder again. So the parts seem to be functioning as expected too. All is well at 24 weeks!!
So you're wondering the sex eh?? (Rik) The Doc pulls out her magic wand and it seemed like the baby was going to be more cooperative this time than last. So we were hopeful!! She scans the money shot... She says, well that looks like a boy part!!! Then she keeps moving her little ultrasound wand until she realizes what she's looking at is the umbilical cord. Pooey! Thought we saw the goods. So she keeps moving the wand around my belly, applying A LOT of pressure (ouch!) and is able to see the little bugger's two legs pulled tightly together (shy baby I guess). No real money shot from that angle. DANG!!! Then she shows us a shot from the bottom, a booty shot, and we really couldn't spot any "beans or frank"... So I'm thinking it's a girl... But Doc wouldn't say she felt confident either way. She just didn't want to commit. So the bottom line is, WE STILL DON'T KNOW FOR SURE!!! If we had to guess we would say 60% girl, 40% boy.... but we're not sure... POOOOOEY.
Sooooooo, while at the Doc's office we see a new poster for the 3D ultrasounds!! They're all the rage in the states, but usually cost a whopping $200-300!! We didn't think we'd get the opportunity here, but it turns out they're being offered right there in my Doc's office, just with the other doc!! And they only charge 45 euro!!!! So I'm scheduled for that on Thursday 28 Dec at 1030. We will try again!
This is crazy torture!! But of course we're just relieved to see the healthy baby. But it would be nice to know!!!!
