Preggo Class

Ahhh the Preggo Class. Stages of Labor / Comfort Techniques.
Very interesting. Very overwhelming. Big reality check. Learned about the different stages of labor, obviously. Lots of practice in breathing techniques (which I've already forgotten). Lots of good info about having a baby here in the German hospitals. Epidurals are not part of the usual plan here. They do everything natural. You have to plan for one, and schedule the anesthesiologist to be there.(I'm leaving my options open at this point.) A regular hospital stay after delivering is 5 days. At the hospital where I would likely deliver (Robert Bosch Krankenhaus), they have all new facilities. Brand new laboring rooms with all of the bells and whistles, private whirlpool baths, showers, birthing balls, etc. Best news was that we can pay 60 euro's to pay for a private room where Chris can stay with me overnight. Lots of great benefits to having the baby here in Germany for sure. Did I mention, my good friend Julie, who gave birth 6 months ago, only lives a minute away from the hospital? She's been a great source of info for me, continues to be my rock & provides me so much support! (Thanks Julie!!) If we end up staying here till May, my parents want to come over around the time of the birth, so that will be great help. All of this is wonderful, but I still am wondering how in the heck I'm going to do this!!!!
